The minion town of Kashipur is emerging as a major industrial center. Many big industrial houses such as India Glycols Ltd, HCL, Videocon, GAMA IFRAPROP Private Ltd. have already set their foot in Kashipur.
The city also has its own 225MW Power Plant, paper mills and sugar mills. Some of the main industrial estates located in Kashipur are the Balaji Industrial Estate, Bheem Nagar Industrial Estate, Omega Industrial Estate, and IDEB Industrial Estate.
There are quit a few sightseing options and places of interest in and around Kashipur. Apart from Jim Corbett Park, there is Garhia Devi temple situated in Ramanage which can be visited. There is a Drona Sagar lake in Kashipur which is belived to exist from the ara of Mahabharata. Chaiti Devi temple is another famous temple that is belived to be from Mahabharatha era.
Kashipur is a part of the Udham Singh Nagar District in the state of Uttarakhand. The tourist destination in and around this place includes: Drona Sagar Girital and Drona Sagar, these well known spots are associated with the story of the ‘Pandavas’. Giri Sarovar, is a charming lake renowned as a picnic site located about 2 km from Kashipur bus stand on the Kashipur-Ramnagar route. The other famous tourist place is the Chaiti Devi Temple; this temple is located at a distance of 2.5 km from Kashipur bus stand and lies on the Kashipur-Bajpur route, a large fair is held here during the ‘navratras’ and flocks of devotees visit this shrine during the festival.
